Abstract:
The pressure inside a dispensing nozzle of a dispensing mechanism (50, 60, 70) that immerses said dispensing nozzle in a dispensing target in a container (11, 21, 31), draws the dispensing target into the dispensing nozzle, and dispenses the dispensing target into a reaction vessel (41) is detected. One of a plurality of determination reference data that are stored in a storage unit (93) and used to determine whether or not the dispensing mechanism (50, 60, 70) is malfunctioning is selected on the basis of a detection result obtained from a pressure sensor (54) when using the dispensing mechanism (50, 60, 70) to dispense a reference dispensing target comprising known components. A detection result obtained from the pressure sensor (54) when using the dispensing mechanism (50, 60, 70) to dispense a dispensing target used in an analysis is then used, together with the selected determination reference datum, to determine whether or not the dispensing mechanism (50, 60, 70) is malfunctioning. This makes it possible to detect dispensing malfunctions in a dispensing mechanism more reliably.
