Abstract:
The present invention decreases water consumption of an automated analyzer without reducing analysis performance. To this end, an automated analyzer according to the present invention comprises: a washing tank 13 in which the exterior of a probe is washed with washing water; a pump 20 for supplying the washing water stored in a tank 50 to the washing tank via a first flow path 60; and flow path switching mechanisms SV1a, SV1b that switch between supplying the washing water to the washing tank via the first flow path and returning the water to the tank via a second flow path connecting the first flow path and the tank. In a cycle constituting a sequence performed by the automated analyzer, a washing period is set during which washing water is supplied to the washing tank via the first flow path and the probe is washed with the washing water. In a cycle in which the probe is not washed, the washing water is controlled so as to be returned by the flow path switching mechanisms to the tank via the second flow path during the washing period.
