Abstract:

An automated brushing system for a side wall of a railway vehicle, and a process for performing a brushing operation by using the system. The automated brushing system comprises a central control system (1), a robot (3), a brushing device (9), a railway (7), a laser measurement system, off-line programming software, and an electrical control system. The system can automatically complete a brushing operation of a side wall of a vehicle body (6). The process can implement an automated, flexible, and intelligent brushing operation, automatically adapt to changes in the surface shape of a workpiece within a specific range, and always maintain a constant normal brushing force, thereby achieving an optimal brushing effect.
