Abstract:
Provided is an automated guided vehicle traveling system capable of accurately grasping the vehicle position and azimuth of an automated guided vehicle in a simple manner regardless of the usage environment. An automated guided vehicle and a traveling path on which the automated guided vehicle travels are provided, the traveling path is partitioned by shelves or walls, and an RFID tag is placed on the shelves or walls. The automated guided vehicle includes a vehicle body, a drive unit, a control unit that controls the drive unit, a surrounding detection unit that detects surrounding objects, and an RFID reader having an antenna that reads position information from an RFID tag. While traveling along the traveling path, the automated guided vehicle estimates the vehicle position and azimuth of the automated guided vehicle by means of the SLAM technique using the detection results of the surrounding detection unit, reads the position information from the RFID tag on the shelves or walls, estimates the vehicle position and azimuth of the automated guided vehicle on the basis of the position information, and corrects the vehicle position and azimuth estimated by the SLAM technique to the vehicle position and azimuth estimated by the position information of the RFID tag.
