Abstract:
The present invention achieves automated lane change control that pays much regard to a driver's intention in automated driving control. The automated lane change control method and device according to the present invention involve: detecting a leading vehicle (1) traveling on the same driving lane as a host vehicle (10); determining whether or not a given condition is satisfied on the basis of the relative relationship between the host vehicle (10) and the leading vehicle (1); and executing a lane change of the host vehicle by automated control when a first prescribed time N1 has elapsed after the given condition has been determined to be satisfied. The automated lane change control method and device also involve: determining whether or not the lane change of the host vehicle (10) was intended by the driver; and, when the lane change is determined as being intended by the driver, setting a second prescribed time N2 longer than the first prescribed time N1 as a time during which lane change by automated control is to be prohibited; and prohibiting lane change by automated control until the second prescribed time N2 has elapsed after a prohibition condition for prohibiting lane change by automated control has been satisfied.
