Abstract:
Fire in an automated warehouse is reliably extinguished using a limited amount of a fire-extinguishing agent. An automated warehouse system (2) comprises: a rack (7) which is provided with spaces (8); and a conveyance device (4) which travels along the rack (7). The automated warehouse system also comprises: a fire-extinguishing unit (12) which is provided with a fire-extinguishing agent tank (14), a nozzle (44), and a lid member (20) which covers the spaces (8) of the rack (7) and permits the ejection of the fire-extinguishing agent from the nozzle (44) into the spaces (8); and an advancement and retraction device (50) which advances and retracts the lid member (20) between a position at which the lid member (20) is located on the conveyance device (4) side and a position at which the lid member (20) covers a space (8). Both the top and bottom surfaces of the spaces (8) of the rack (7) are ceilings (37) or floors (37) which are fire-resistant or incombustible, and both the left and right side surfaces and the rear surface of the spaces (8) are walls (35, 36) which are fire-resistant or incombustible. When fire occurs, the fire-extinguishing unit (12) is conveyed by the conveyance device (4), and the fire-extinguishing agent is ejected from the nozzle (44) into the space (8) in which the fire has occurred.
