Abstract:
Provided is a technique relating to a cleaning mechanism for an automatic analysis apparatus and allowing suppression of, for example, a variation in a cleaning range for a reaction container and suppression of an adverse effect, for example, on blank value measurements. The automatic analysis apparatus controls a sequence including optical measurements and cleaning, and has a discharge mechanism including a discharge nozzle (system water discharge nozzle 44) through which a liquid is discharged into a reaction container 2 and an overflow suction mechanism including an overflow suction nozzle 54 through which an overflow portion of the liquid in the reaction container 2 is sucked. In a liquid discharge step (step S8) executed during a cleaning step, after a step using a detergent and before a blank value measurement step, the automatic analysis apparatus controls discharge of the liquid through the discharge nozzle and suction of the overflow portion through the overflow suction nozzle in a first state in which the lower end of the discharge nozzle is placed at a first position (Z1), which corresponds to a lower portion in the reaction container, in a height direction thereof and the lower end of the overflow suction nozzle is placed at a second position (Z2), which corresponds to an upper portion in the reaction container, in the height direction thereof.
