Abstract:

Provided is an automatic analysis device suitable for efficiently performing reagent control by reusing existing reagent information memory media, this device being such that ID information regarding reagents which became unnecessary is rewritten as information unable to be recognized by relevant devices. Disclosed is an automatic analysis method wherein a reagent is dispensed by a reagent dispensing burette, wherein the dispensed reagent is caused to react to a specimen, wherein the specimen reacted to is measured, and wherein the specified analysis items for the specimen are analyzed. The aforementioned automatic analysis device is characterized by being provided with an information reader/writer which reads and writes information with respect to an information memory medium installed in a reagent container; a means of managing information which is read; and a means of processing the reagent on the basis of the aforementioned managed information. This device is also characterized by comprising a means whereby reagent information judged to be unnecessary on the basis of the aforementioned managed information is rewritten as information unable to be recognized by relevant devices.
