Abstract:
The purpose of this invention is to provide an automatic analysis device and automatic analysis method that prevent a detergent usage amount and processing time from increasing as a result of excessive additional cleaning. This invention is an automatic analysis device comprising a dispensing mechanism that sucks in and discharges a sample, a cleaning unit that cleans the dispensing mechanism, and a control unit that determines whether to carry out additional cleaning in addition to normal cleaning that is carried out each time a sample is dispensed, characterized in that the control unit makes the determination on the basis of the purpose of a preceding sample that was dispensed before a following sample that is to be dispensed by the dispensing mechanism.
