An automatic battery swap station for an electric vehicle, comprising: a battery swap platform (1) used for supporting and positioning a vehicle, and raising the vehicle to a preset battery swap height; a guide rail (2) running through the battery swap platform (1) and extending out of the battery swap platform (1) at both ends, the guide rail (2) serving as a travel rail for a battery swap trolley (4); and battery pack storage devices (3) respectively provided at the both ends of the guide rail (2) extending out of the battery swap platform (1), and used for storing battery packs, receiving power-lack battery packs conveyed by the battery swap trolley (4), and providing fully-charged battery packs for the battery swap trolley (4), each battery pack storage device (3) being provided at the bottom with an avoidance area (5) allowing the guide rail (2) and the battery swap trolley (4) to enter, and multiple layers of battery pack storage units (6) arranged in a height direction being provided in the avoidance area (5). The automatic battery swap station comprises multiple battery pack swap openings, occupies small floor space, allows the storage of a large number of battery packs, features short battery pack swap time, has high battery swap efficiency, and greatly improves user experience.
