An automatic cash transaction device wherein a lockable shutter is realized at low cost by using a simple structure. A shutter member (23) is pivotably mounted to a fixed shaft (27) of a base plate (22), and in a state in which a unit (40) is pulled out, a tension coil spring (25) pulls up the shutter member (23) to close an opening (13).  In this process, a tension coil spring (26) urges a shutter drive lever (24) to cause an engaging pin (37), which extends through an engaging hole (33) in the shutter member (23), to engage with an engaging groove (28) in the base plate (22), and this locks the shutter member (23) to fix the shutter member (23) at a position at which the shutter member (23) closes the opening (13).  In receiving of the unit (40) into position, a lever (41) fixed to the unit pushes the shutter drive lever (24) to disengage the engaging pin (37) from the engaging groove (28), unlocking the shutter member (23).  Then, receiving operation follows this to cause the shutter member (23) to pivot about the fixed shaft (27), and the engaging pin (37) rotates the shutter member (23) to open the opening (13).
