Abstract:
Provided are an automatic continuous image engraving device and method with which it is possible to automatically engrave an image on a sheet-like engraving medium in a smoothly continuous manner, and to allow the size of the device to be reduced. This automatic continuous image engraving device is characterized by being provided with: a medium carrying out unit 3 that sends out, in the surface direction, the topmost stacked sheet-like engraving medium; a transfer-conveyance unit 5 that transfers the sheet-like engraving medium sent out from the medium carrying out unit 3 to a conveyance surface 19a and, while preparing the conveyance orientation, conveys the sheet-like engraving medium in the surface direction toward an image engraving unit 7; the image engraving unit 7, which engraves an image after restoring and positioning the conveyance to the transfer-conveyance unit 5 side from a reference position detected after the sheet-like engraving medium is transferred; and a medium discharging unit 9 that discharges and houses, at the lower side of the image engraving unit 7, the sheet-like engraving medium carried out from the image engraving unit 7.
