Title:
AUTOMATIC DRAIN SYSTEM TO BE EMPLOYED IN COMPRESSED AIR TANK FOR PNEUMATIC DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/060560
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
Disclosed is an automatic drain system of a compressed air tank, which includes: a water level sensor (10) inserted and extending down to the internal floor of a compressed air tank (1) and applying a voltage or a current to condensed water in the tank so as to sense the level of the condensed water using electric signals; a control section (20) inputted with the electric signals of the water level sensor; and a drain valve (30) disposed at a water outlet (2) and operated by the control section. According to the present invention, the water level sensor (10) for sensing the condensed water includes insulators (11a, 11b) formed in the shape of a thin and long rod, which has at least one pair of conduction terminals (12a, 12b) that are disposed apart from each other, and may be inserted into a water outlet (3) or an air outlet (2) of the compressed air tank. A water level sensor, which has insulators formed to be foldable and have two to ten pairs of conduction terminals that are different from each other in length and disposed apart from each other, generates a water level value signal by a conduction current value, which varies in a stepped manner according to the water level height of the condensed water. Therefore, the water level sensor may detect not only whether condensed water is generated or not regardless of the depth of the tank and the shape of the bottom but also the water level change of the condensed water. The control section (20) measures the amount of the condensed water in the tank and the speed at which the condensed water decreases from the input values of the water level sensor so that the control section may discharge the condensed water speedily and economically. The control section (20) recognizes the ratio of the actual discharge amount of the condensed water to the actual discharge amount of air during the operation of a compressor in real time, so that the control section recognizes the condensed water level at which the discharge efficiency is maximized from the ratio and effectively reflects the same to the opening and closing operation of the drain valve (30).
