Abstract:
In this automatic driving support device, if an emergency vehicle detection unit detects the approach of an emergency vehicle toward an own vehicle during automatic driving travel of the vehicle, said vehicle having an automatic driving control device, then a driver condition determination unit detects a condition of a driver of the vehicle and thereby determines whether it is possible for the automatic driving control device to switch from the automatic driving mode to a manual driving mode in which the driver performs driving operations, and when the approach of an emergency vehicle is detected and it is determined that it is not possible to switch to the manual driving mode, a travel route change unit changes a travel route of the own vehicle, said travel route having been set by the automatic driving control device, to a travel route that does not overlap with a travel route of the emergency vehicle as acquired by an emergency vehicle travel route acquisition unit.
