Abstract:
Provided is an automatic faucet that can detect an object to be detected even when the object is a comparatively small object. This automatic faucet comprises: a water discharging unit that discharges water downward; an electromagnetic wave sensor that comprises a transmitter to transmit electromagnetic waves below the water discharging unit, and a receiver disposed adjacent to the transmitter to receive electromagnetic waves reflected by an object disposed in a detection area under the water discharging unit; a controlling unit that controls the amount of water discharged from the water discharging unit on the basis of the electromagnetic waves transmitted by the transmitter and the electromagnetic waves received by the receiver; a transmitting focusing lens that is disposed between the transmitter and the detection area and that reduces the half-value angle of the electromagnetic waves transmitted by the transmitter; and a receiving focusing lens that is disposed between the receiver and the detection area and that reduces the half-value angle of the electromagnetic waves received by the receiver.
