Abstract:
The present invention relates to an automatic filament exchanging method in which a filament for a 3D printer is wound on a spool which separates a main space and a subspace from each other and includes main space flanges arranged at both sides of the main space and a subspace flange arranged at the outer side of the subspace having the filament wound therein. The method comprises: a spool arrangement step for arranging a spool on which a first filament for a 3D printer is to be wound; a subspace first filament winding step for winding the first filament in a subspace of the spool which has been arranged in the spool arrangement step; a first filament arrangement step for making the first filament, which has been wound in the subspace first filament winding step, pass through a gap formed in the main space flange formed between the main space and the subspace, and arranging the first filament in the main space of the spool; and a main space first filament winding step for winding the first filament, which has been arranged in the main space of the spool, in the main space of the spool, wherein the first filament is wound in one layer in the subspace of the spool and the first filament, which has passed through the gap, is then wound in multiple layers in the main space of the spool. The above-described structure solves a problem that, as in the case where a conventional spool is used, when the amount of a filament remaining on a last part of a spool is less than the amount required in a next printed material of a 3D printer, the spool should be replaced by a new spool and thus the remaining amount of filament existing on the spool cannot be used. Therefore, the present invention enables use of even the last part of a filament on the spool.
