Abstract:
The present invention provides an automatic free-form tablet dispenser for a medication packaging device and a method for dispensing tablets by the automatic free-form tablet dispenser. The automatic free-form tablet dispenser of the present invention dispenses a set number of tablets, inserted from the outside, into the hopper of the medication packaging device, and comprises: a main body having a guide track through which a received tablet is transferred; a driving unit that transfers the tablet along the guide track; an entrance detection sensor, which detects whether the tablet has entered the entrance side of the guide track; an arrival detection sensor, which detects whether the tablet has reached the exit side of the guide track; and a control unit, which determines whether the arrival detection sensor detects the tablet within a certain time period after the entrance detection sensor detects the tablet.
