Abstract:
A system for automatically introducing a target celestial body by controlling the rotation of an astronomical telescope at least about two axes, comprising an imaging unit capable of imaging the celestial image with a plurality of focal lengths, an astronomical database, an image processing section for extracting the information of each celestial body from an imaged celestial image, and a section for identifying an imaged celestial body by comparing the extracted information of each celestial body with the astronomical information of the astronomical database. Alignment processing is performed by defining the coordinate conversion information of the coordinates system of the astronomical telescope with respect to the astronomical coordinates system based on the identified celestial body position information. In the automatic introduction, the celestial image is imaged after the target celestial body is introduced, the celestial body of the imaged celestial image is identified and then rotation of the astronomical telescope is controlled based on the positional information of the identified celestial body such that the target celestial image is introduced to the center of the field of view. Alignment accuracy and automatic introduction accuracy are enhanced by shifting the focal length of the imaging unit stepwise to the telescope side.
