Abstract:
The electric igniter (3) cap is placed on the surface of the friction igniter (10) of the flame inhibitor (1) or in the flame inhibitor mixture, dependent on its type of composition. The lid (2) is placed on the activation spot of the flame inhibitor (1) so as to fixate the electric igniter (3) cap. The electric igniter (3) is electrically connected on its other end to the electronic device (4). The temperature sensors (5) are electrically connected to the electronic device (4), which is on the other hand connected to the manual activator (6) and the protected motor vehicle battery. The manual activator (6) is composed of the electric switch (7) and the battery (8), which are electrically interconnected and in addition electrically connected to the electronic device (4) and the electric igniter (3).

Claims:
PATENT CLAIMS

I. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system, which consists of a flame inhibitor, lid, electric igniter, electronic device which measures temperature and activates the electric igniter, temperature sensors, manual activator and electric power supply by means of which the protected motor vehicle is supplied with electric power, wherein the flame inhibitor is Mangiafuoco® - 8 B flame inhibitor, or can be a similar device to the patented Mangiafuoco® - 8 B flame inhibitor, composed of potassium salts, which extinguishes fire by the combustion of an oxidizing agent and additives, activated by the friction igniter, as well as by the creation of gaseous products and powder j et, which extinguishes fire with a cooling and smothering effect.

II. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system defined in claim 1 , wherein the electric igniter is a device that belongs to the group of initial electric utilities which are ignited by an incandescent conductor, i.e. heat resisting wire, and wherein the electric igniter is electronically connected to the electronic device which measures temperature and activates the electric igniter and the electric igniter cap is placed on the surface of the igniter or in the flame inhibitor mixture, through the axial bore on top of the flame inhibitor, through which fire-extinguishant powder jets during the combustion.

III. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system of claim 2, wherein the lid is devised so as to possess an axial bore through the cylindrical base sufficiently wide to ensure an unobstructed passage of gaseous products of the powder j et and wherein the lid is positioned on top of the combusting flame inhibitor so as to provide additional fastening of the flame inhibitor attached to the surface of the friction igniter, or in the flame inhibitor mixture.

IV. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system of claim 3 , wherein the temperature sensors are electric components used for temperature measurement and wherein they are electrically connected to the electronic device which measures temperature and activates the electric igniter, their number dependent on the surface of the protected area.

V. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system of claim 4, wherein the manual activator is electrically connected to the electronic device which measures temperature and activates the electric igniter and to the electric igniter and wherein the manual activator is composed of the electric switch and the battery, which are electrically interconnected.

VI. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system of claim 5 , wherein the protected motor vehicle battery is electrically connected to the electronic device which measure temperature and activates the electric igniter VII. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system of claim 6, wherein the electronic device which measures temperature and activates the electric igniter is a device which by means of the temperature sensors measures the temperature of a given environment and activates the electric igniter at a set temperature VIII. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system of claim 7, wherein the electric switch in the manual activator uses power of the battery in the manual activator.

IX. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system of claim 8, wherein the temperature sensors are fitted on the inside surface of the hood of the motor vehicle

X. The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system of claim 9 , wherein the flame inhibitor is placed in the motor vehicle engine

AUTOMATIC MOTOR VEHICLE ENGINE FIRE EXTINGUISHER SYSTEM

INVENTION DES CRIPTION Field of the invention

The invention belongs to the field of motor vehicle engine fire- extinguisher systems .

Technical problem

It is often noted that when fire breaks out in the motor vehicle engine, it is very difficult to extinguish it adequately due to the poor access to the source of the fire. The size of the standard fire-extinguishing equipment makes it almost impossible to fit in the fire-fighting systems which use such equipment, not to mention the extinguishants they use are usually not able to extinguish fire in the motor vehicle engine, either due to its limitations with regards to a particular fire class, or due to their chemical products which have a detrimental effect on the engine.

Current technologies

There are few similar systems, which are, however, too cumbrous to be fitted in the vehicle and/or are not able to extinguish fire safely and satisfactorily.

S ummary of the invention

The primary aim of this invention is to make it possible to adequately extinguish fire in the motor car engine with no harmful consequences for either the engine, man or the environment, resulting from the extinguishing process or the extinguishant.

The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system hereby outlined consists of a fire-extinguisher, such as the patented «Mangiafuoco® - 8B» flame inhibitor, composed of potassium salts, which extinguishes fire by the combustion of oxidizing agents oxidants and additives, activated by the friction igniter, as well as by the creation of gaseous products and powder j et, which extinguishes fire

i with a cooling and smothering effect; of a lid which fixates the electric igniter and which is placed at the ignition spot of the flame inhibitor; of an electric cap, that is, an electric igniter, electrically connected to the electronic device, which belongs to the group of initial electric utilities which are ignited by an incandescent conductor, i . e. heat resisting wire, placed on the surface of the friction igniter or in the flame inhibitor mixture; of an electronic device which, using temperature sensors, that is, temperature sondes, has a function of measuring the temperature of a given environment and activating the electric igniter, dependent on the activation temperature set beforehand; of temperature sensors, that is, temperature sondes, electrically connected to the electronic device ; of the protected motor vehicle battery the system is fitted in, electrically connected to the electronic device, which supplies the electronic device with electric power; of a manual activator, electrically connected to the electronic device, which is composed of an electric switch and battery, which are electrically connected to the manual activator, that is, the electronic device, where the battery serves as a secondary source of electric power supply, that is, a secondary source of electric power supply of the electric igniter in the electronic device.

Detailed description of the invention

Automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system consists of:

1 0. Friction igniter

1 1 . Flame inhibitor mixture Electric igniter (3) cap is situated on the surface of the friction igniter ( 1 0) of the flame inhibitor ( 1 ) or in the flame inhibitor mixture (1 1 ), depending on the type of its composition. The lid (2) is positioned on the activation spot of the flame inhibitor ( 1 ), that is, on the electric igniter (3) cap , so as to fixate it, and at the same time devised so as to make the flow of gaseous products smooth and unobstructed upon the activation of the flame inhibitor, or, in other words, to have an axial bore sufficiently wide to make this process run smooth. The other end of the electric igniter (3) is electrically connected to the electronic device which measures the temperature and activates the electric igniter (4) . Temperature sensors (5) are electrically connected to the electronic device (4) and are used to measure the temperature of a given environment and subsequently convey temperature data to the electronic device (4) , which at a set temperature activates the electric igniter (3 ), and the electric igniter in its turn activates the flame inhibitor ( 1 ) . Protected motor vehicle battery (9) is electrically connected to the electronic device (4) and supplies it with electric power and, consequently, makes automatic functioning, that is, temperature measurement and the electric igniter (3 ) activation, possible. The manual activator (6) is electrically connected to the electronic device (4) and is compo sed of the electric switch (7) and the battery (8) which are electrically interconnected together to the electronic device (4) . The manual activator (6) enables the driver to manually activate the electric igniter (3 ), that is, the flame inhibitor ( 1 ), by means of the electric switch (7) and the battery (8), which serves as a secondary source of electric supply required to activate the electric igniter (3) .

The application of the invention

The automatic motor vehicle engine fire-extinguisher system is designed to control the temperature in the motor vehicle engine automatically. Temperature sensors are fitted on the inside surface of the hood simmetrically so as to cover a larger or desired area. The electronic device is installed out of the bounds of the protected area and is electrically connected to the source of electric power supply of the protected motor vehicle, the temperature sensors and the manual activator, which is placed within the driver's reach. When the temperature in the engine hits the dangerous or set numbers, either as a consequence of overheating or fire, the temperature sensors convey the message of the occurence to the electronic device, which then activates the electric igniter, which in its turn activates the flame inhibitor placed within the protected area. At any time for any reason whatsoever, by means of the manual activator the driver can activate the flame inhibitor and start the fire-extinguishing process . This would not be possible without the electric switch and the battery, which serves as a secondary and independent source of electric power supply of the electric igniter, as an additional safeguard.
