This invention regards a multi
belt which simultaneously cuts tree trunks into several logs: Until now, saws were able to make one cut at time, and thus the process had to be repeted several time to produce many logs.
This slows the production time.
This invention eliminates that inconvenience by speeding up the process. Moreover, thanks to the structure of the system, it is safer for workers because they are further from the cutting area. This is possible thanks to the conveyor belt. Workers load the trunks on the belt and the chain system
locks them in position for cutting. Several belt saws then simultaneously cut several logs from one trunk. Another belt then remove the logs and separate the ones ready for use from the ones that need addictional cutting.
Figl shows a sectionalized frontal view of the saw; Fig 2 is a side view which clearly shows its three main parts; Fig 3 shows the part A, the loading system composed of a loading belt (A1) on which the trunks are placed for cutting; a system (A3) made up of wheels and balances which block the trunk until the cut area (B); Fig 4 shows the central part for cutting (B) : a system with belt saws (Bl)
supported by fly wheels (B2) : the belt saw simultaneously cut the trunks in several logs; the belt slide on guides (B5) at a specific distance in order to obtain equal logs of about 30 cm.; A system realising the brake of the fly wheels (B4) allows for the changing of the belts. The trunk, divided in several logs by a cutting plane (B8) falls down the separator (Bl0). Fig. 5 shows the loading belt which carries and separates the logs according to their dimensions.
