Description:
TITLE OF INVENTION "AN AUTOMATIC ONLINE PASTING DEVICE FOR PAPER WEB FED PRINTING MACHINE".

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THIS INVENTION : Present invention relates to an automatic online pasting device for paper web fed printing machine. The device is constructed to suit the configuration of the web printing machines presently used for printing purpose. An automatic on line pasting device does not require any special mounting arrangement and can be mounted on the existing bars of the machine as per the pasting requirements and does not require any special driving arrangement as it is self driven using the friction force.

BACKGROUND ART : There is no such type of automatic online device known at present for use of pasting the paper bunch. There are other methods used, these are as follows : 1. Stapling the paper bunch after completion of the printing operation either manually or with separate machine.

2. Stitching the bunch of paper after completion of printing operation either manually or with separate stitching machine.

3. Some times the papers are also pasted separately after completion of printing operation The above mentioned methods have certain drawbacks.

1. Additional requirement of manpower results in consumption of extra labour hours.

2. More handling of job resulting in to wastage of material.

3. Another machine has to be installed to staple or to stitch the paper bunch after completion of printing operation. Therefore more consumption of power resulting in increase in initial cost.

It is object of the present invention to develop an automatic online pasting device for paper web fed printing machine to suit the configuration of the present web fed printing machine.

It is also object of the present invention to develop an automatic on line pasting device which is economic and which does not require any special mounting arrangement and can be mounted on the existing bars of the machine as per the pasting requirements.

According to the most salient feature of the present invention an automatic on line pasting device does not require any special driving arrangement as it is self driven using the friction force.

According to this invention therefore, an automatic on line pasting device for paper web fed printing machine comprising of wheel assembly which consisting of two wheels, one relatively larger than other, are placed in inclined position with the help of bush and bearing in the centre such that the larger wheel is on the upper side and is set to the light pressure contact with the smaller wheel and the smaller wheel is driven by the larger wheel; the walls are provided on either side of the said wheel assembly; an over flow drain tray is provided at the bottom having an outlet; a vertical clamp is connected to the said wheel assembly by means of threaded bolt along with the spring ; the slide is provided below the said wheel assembly to fix the position and to avoid the play.

The invention will now be described in detailed with the help of drawing accompanying this specification wherein the salient constructional as well as functional features have been explained and shown by suitable numerals and referred to appropriately in the following description.

Drawing comprises of 1 figure, which is an automatic on line pasting device for web fed printing machine.

An automatic on line pasting device comprising of the wheel assembly (1) which consist of two wheels (la, lb) in which one wheel is relatively larger (la) than the other wheel (lb). This wheel assembly (1) is mounted on the main clamp

(2) in inclined position with larger wheel (la) on the upper side having bush and bearing in the centre of both the wheels such that the larger wheel (la) is set to the light pressure contact with the smaller wheel (lb) and the smaller wheel (lb) is driven by the larger wheel (la) and the larger wheel (la) is driven by the friction of the web paper (15). The adhesive (4) is supplied to the smaller wheel (lb) with the help of adhesive supply tube (3) provided above the smaller wheel (lb). As the smaller wheel (lb) receives the drop of adhesive (4) continuously and is driven by the larger wheel (la) thereby transferring the adhesive to the larger wheel (1a) and automatically to the web paper (15) which is set in contact with the larger wheel (la). Walls (5) are provided on either side of the said wheel assembly (1) so that the adhesive (4) does not splash on the web paper (15). An over flow drain tray (6) is provided at the bottom of the said wheel assembly (1) having an outlet (7); a vertical clamp (8) is connected to the wheel assembly (1) by means of a threaded bolt (9) which is integral part of wheel assembly (1) along with the spring (10) ; the said threaded bolt (9) is put through the vertical clamp (8) at lower end with nut (11) on the end. A grub screw (12) is provided on upper side of the said vertical clamp (8) for mounting and fixing the said wheel assembly (1) on the existing bars of the web fed printing machine. (not shown) A slide (13) is provided below the said wheel assembly to fix the position and avoid the play.

An in built recess tank (14) is below the smaller wheel such that the smaller wheel is partly dipped in the tank with adhesive (4) which ensures the supply of adhesive (4) to the smaller wheel (lb), in case if the supply of adhesive from the adhesive supply tube (3) trips.

DETAILS OF FIGURE: Wheel assembly 1, Larger wheel la, Smaller wheel lb, Main clamp 2, Adhesive supply tube 3

Adhesive 4, Walls 5, Over flow drain tray 6, Out let 7, Vertical clamp 8, Threaded bolt 9, Spring 10, Nut 11, Grub screw 12, Slide 13, Recess tank 14, Web paper 15.

To sum up following advantages are achieved by this invention.

1. Very easy to mount as the device is very light in weight.

2. Stability for friction because of the nut and spring arrangement.

3. Over drain facility for cleanliness of operations.

4. Positive operation by friction driven wheels for application of adhesive.
