Abstract:
An automatic paper feeder in which a pad pressing means for pressing a separation pad to a pick roller has a reversed U shape, and in which a pressing spring for pressing the separation pad to the pad pressing means to the pick roller side is provided at the central portion of the pad pressing means. The automatic feeder has a rotation fulcrum which enables the pad pressing means to rotate about a portion at which the pad pressing means and the pressing spring are joined, where the pad pressing means rotate in forward and backward directions relative to the direction of rotation of the pick roller. Further, in order to prevent a large load from acting on the entire pad pressing means when a thick sheet of paper etc. are fed, a rotation arm may be provided at the portion at which the pressing spring is joined. The rotation arm enables the entire pressing means including the pad pressing means to rotate about a predetermined position.
