The sit- stand chair and standing desk assembly of the present invention allows the computer use to automatically change the posture from the sitting position to the standing position and vice versa continuously with a selected time period unknowingly even when fully engaged in his work. This process of continuously changing the posture of the computer user is very beneficial to the health of the computer user.

[0008] The automatic sit-stand chair and standing desk assembly consists of hand operable levers and foot operable pedals, which allows the user to do exercise while working in computer. The hand operable levers and foot operable pedals act as input command buttons instead of some keyboard and mouse.

[0009] The force applied by the user makes a hydraulic system to lift the entire framework i.e. it lifts the user ' s chair along with the user from the sitting position to the standing position. Simultaneously, it lifts the desk also along with monitor, keyboard and mouse from sitting position to standing position. Screw- driven or gas driven or water driven or oil driven lifting jacks are utilized for this lifting system. The chair moves from the standing position to the sitting position by gravity and by opening and closing of some valves in the hydraulic system.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

[0010] The automatic sit-stand chair and standing desk assembly with a mechanism thereof allows the user to do exercise while working in computer and to give input commands to the computer and to change his/her posture while working thereby improving the physical activity of the computer user. The automatic sit-stand chair and standing desk assembly of the present invention comprises a movable sit-stand chair, an automatic height adjustable and horizontally adjustable standing desk, a hydraulically liftable framework, a command input mechanism and an exercising mechanism. The framework is liftable using a hydraulic lifting mechanism for lifting the sit-stand chair and standing desk according to different models and working modes. Height of a desk work area in the standing desk changes by the framework according to the different models and working modes, when the user moves to different postures at different statures.

[0011] As shown in Figure 1, the command input mechanism consists of hand operable levers (1) and foot operable pedals (2) that allow the computer user to provide input commands to a personal computer instead of utilizing few buttons of keyboard and mouse. The hand operable levers and the foot operable pedals act as input command buttons. The pedals and levers are provided at a foot rest area, at a hand rest area and at shoulder spots of an user of the personal computer. This features allows the user to feel like sitting in a driver seat of a vehicle. The pedals look alike the vehicle brake pedals and clutch pedals as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2. The levers look alike hand brake type levers provided at the hand rest area as shown in the Figure 1 and Figure 2. The pedals and levers are utilized for doing both exercise and for providing input commands to the personal computer. For instance, left leg pedal is utilized as a left button in mouse, right leg pedal is utilized as a right button in mouse, left hand lever is utilized as an enter button and so on. The hydraulic lifting mechanism consists of a hydraulic oil driven tank, a pump equipment (5) along with jacks (3, 4) and associating pipes such as hydraulic rubber pipes for connecting pump and jacks (7), disconnectable rubber pipe for desk (8) and disconnectable rubber pipe for chair (9) for supplying oil to generate pressure for lifting the framework as shown in Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4.

[0012] The utilization of the pedals and levers requires more physical activity of the user when compared to the utilization of the keyboard and the mouse. So, that the mechanism allows the user to work and exercise simultaneously, thereby improving the well-being of the user by enhancing health.

[0013] Generally, the vehicle driver focuses only on the road, but not on the brake pedals and gears while driving as he is used to perform the operation of pedals and levers unknowingly. Similarly, the user of this mechanism can be used to the operation of pedals and levers in a time period, so that they don't need to concentrate on the operation of pedals and levers and they can work in the PC easily, thus allowing the user to exercise in an oblivious manner.

[0014] The pedals and levers are additionally connected to the hydraulically liftable framework, which lifts the chair including the computer user and the desk work area including a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse simultaneously to an upper position as shown in the FIGURE 3 and FIGURE 4. Each operation of the pedals and levers generates some force, thereby lifting the framework. By the provision of framework, the user can obtain few unique postures in the middle of sitting stance to standing stance consequently. The invention offers relaxation to the user ' s lumbar and nerves without notifying the user, when the user focuses his work in the computer thereby enabling posture change in an oblivious manner.

[0015] The exercising mechanism consists of hand operable levers (1), foot operable pedals (2), scroll bars, wheels and exercise center wires for performing exercise by the user.

[0016] As shown in Figure 4 and Figure 5, disconnectable hydraulic rubber pipes (10) are provided for connecting the chair and desk. An electronic signal producing sensor equipment (11) is provided for generating input commands to the personal computer by pedals and levers. Electric wires (12) are provided for connecting the sit-stand chair to the desk work area and to a central processing unit (CPU) of the personal computer. Sensors are provided for performing personalized height settings.

[0017] The system permits to change the function of the key for the pedals and levers. When the user wishes to change the function of the lever from an enter key to a space bar key or a number key, the client can have the option to do this process by just changing the settings in the personal computer. Also, the pressure of the pedals, levers, scroll bars are adjustable. Time span of the stance changing is customizable. The chair and desk work area are connected to a CPU of the personal computer.
