Description:
DESCRIPTION AUTOMATIC SWIMMm&PQOL WATER LEVEL REGULATOR UNIT The concept employs a water delivery system, controlled by electronics, sensor and processor, which is calibrated to keep the swimming pool water at the required level.

The uniqueness of the design is in the reading and processing of information, and the installation of the system. All connections take place in the pool pump and filter enclosed compartment. This arrangement ensures safety as the pool is kept free of wires, pipes and accessories.

The benefits and practicality of the Automatic Pool Level Regulator are: 1. The concept allows the water level in the pool to be maintained automatically. No inconvenience of filling the pool manually, eliminating all its associated problems.

2. Overfilling or allowing the pool to overflow can drastically disrupt the water chemical balance, which usually requires time, effort and money to rectify. On the other hand if the water level is allowed to drop too much, the amount of water needed to refill the pool will also-negatively affect the chemical balance.

3. A major problem that results in wear and tear and eventual pump failure, is the restriction of water flow to the pump. The system keeps the water in the pool at the correct level, ensuring that the pool pump works efficiently at all times and prolonging its life.

4. Saving in overall pool maintenance costs.

5. Installation and calibration of the system is practical and easy.

6. The system was designed with safety in mind. It runs on very low current, which in addition is also isolated from the water source. The unit is protected as it is installed inside the pool pump and filter compartment, with no wires or pipes leading to the pool itself.

As a general overview, owning a swimming pool certainly enhances ones lifestyle, however, the maintenance thereof can be time consuming and frustrating. This is why so many swimming pool products have found its way into the market place, in resent years.

The Automatic Swimming Pool Water Level Regulator is no exception, it is practical and certainly falls within the enhanced lifestyle-aiteria of swimming pool owners.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to an automatic swimming pool/pool water level regulator.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Products exist on the market that can be employed to maintain the water level of swimming pools at the desired level.

However, they all use devices that are placed in one way or another on the side or inside the swimming pool with pipes that lay openly on the paving, which constitutes a safety hazard, or require renovations to the pool to accommodate the installation. It is an object of this invention to provided a device, which automatically keeps the water in the pool at the desired level, but is not installed in. the pool itself obviating. the need for open pipes or wires in and around the swimming area.

THE INVENTION According to the invention a relatively small electronic unit is fixed to the pools electrical box and connected to the mains and pool pump circuit breakers, and the water delivery system, which is inclusive of the electronic sensor and processor, is connected to the filter exit pipe to pool, all inside the pool pump/filter enclosure.

In a preferred form of the invention-the. automatic swimming pool water level regulator unit includes a compartmentalised water-resistant box, which houses the electronics, switching system and water. delivery system and a short length of pipe, external to the unit, with sheath to accommodate the light wiring to sensor and processor, which connects the unit to the sensor arrangement and delivers water to the pool, as required, via the pool filter exit pipe. In one form of the invention the sensor and processor arrangement is also housed.. inside the water-resistant box.

The configuration of the water-resistant box may change to accommodate the different arrangements of the invention.

The water-resistant box and pipes may be made from any suitable polymeric material, which may include additives such as pigments and the like.

The water-resistant box is fixed in place so that the cover will be secured from the top with overlapping sides to form a water-resistant fit.

The unit will be fitted with an isolation switch and monitoring indicator lights. An isolator valve may be included. Its electronics may be designed such that it could be monitored by a home computer management system.

EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION The embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings, which are schematic views of the automatic swimming pool water level regulator unit invention.

In figure 1 the unit includes a water-resistant box with compartments 3, fixed to the side the box are the monitoring indicator lights 1 and the cover 9 (not shown fully) is secured to the box with screws to form a tight fit.

The water delivery system 2 includes a solenoid valve, connection to the water mains 4 and a short delivery pipe with sheath 8 to accommodate the light wires to the sensor and processor.

The electronics 6 and switching system 7 (in this configuration of the invention) are housed in two separate water-resistant compartments and connected to the pools electrical system 5 (the mains and pool pump circuit breakers).

In figure 2 the unit 10 is shown fixed to the pools electrical box 12 with electrical wires entering the box and finished off with a water-resistant connection to seal 18 and water main connection 15. The Sensor, processor and water delivery connection arrangement 13 is shown connected to the filter exist pipe to pool 14.

The unit 10, delivery pipe arrangement 19 and sensor, processor connection arrangement 13 is shown installed in close proximity to the pool filter 11 and pool pump 16. All are safely enclosed by the pool pump and filter arrangement housing 17
