Title:
AUTOMATIC TESTING SYSTEM FOR PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1980/002461
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Electronic circuits mounted on printed circuit boards, particularly circuits used for television receivers, are placed on a palette which is transferred by a conveyer. During transfer, test probes check whether or not the necessary parts are on the board as well as the suitability of their values to discriminate between defective circuit boards and those that pass. Then test probes monitor the characteristics of the parts and, if any require adjustment, this is automatically performed by a control circuit which controls a driver circuit. When the operational characteristics cannot be brought into predetermined limits by such adjustment, the circuit board is rejected as being defective. Thus, only circuit boards which have been properly adjusted are selected. In this manner, the selection and necessary adjustments may be made rapidly on a single conveyer line.
