Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an automatic voltage regulator, comprising: a primary coil unit that induces an alternating current (AC) voltage, inputted from a power source, to a secondary coil according to a turn ratio; a secondary coil unit that drops or boosts the voltage induced from the primary coil unit, includes a plurality of taps disposed in an output terminal thereof, and enables different voltages to be supplied to a load according to a turn number difference of the secondary coil; a switch unit that switches one of the taps disposed in the output terminal of the secondary coil unit to allow the dropped or boosted voltage to be supplied to the load according to a turn ratio which has been set in a corresponding tap; and a control unit that controls the switching of the switch unit in order for a corresponding constant voltage to be supplied to the load according to the setting by a user of a voltage supplied to the load. Accordingly, the apparatus of the present invention can precisely and stably output a set voltage, and enables the manufacture of a small automatic voltage regulator.
