Abstract:
Disclosed is an automatic wire threader for a wire electric discharge machining apparatus that includes a jet nozzle (20). The jet nozzle includes a first and second finger (21, 22) that are capable of shifting between an open position in which a jet nozzle hole (28) is open and a closed position in which the jet nozzle hole is formed. The jet nozzle also includes a bias means (60) that impels the first and second fingers into the open position. When a shifting device shifts the jet nozzle from a standby position to an operating position, the first and second fingers resist the bias means by coming into contact with a spray nozzle and shift to the closed position.
