Abstract:
Provided is an automobile cabin side-wall structure such that a cylindrical shape of a shock-absorbing material can be crushed and deformed in an axial direction in an orderly manner upon lateral collision of a vehicle. When a collision load (F) is input to a shock-absorbing material (10) in an axial direction, a flange portion (13) at a peripheral edge of an open portion is uniformly pressed against a door trim (4). At a connecting portion (15) of a peripheral wall (11), stress is dispersed by an arc-shaped surface, whereby the development of crack is avoided, thus enabling even dispersion of the load. At the connecting portion (15), buckling stiffness is adjusted by a buckling adjustment slit (16) so as to substantially equalize the buckling stiffness at each portion of the peripheral wall (11), whereby the cylindrical shape of the shock-absorbing material (10) is crushed and deformed in the axial direction in an orderly manner.
