Abstract:
An automotive folding seat device, comprising: a seat support platform (2) mounted on a floor (F); a cushion stow-away mechanism (5) capable of moving a seat cushion (4) from an in-use position (A) to a stow-away position (B); a reclining mechanism (7) capable of selectively holding a seat back (6) at an upright position (C) and a fallen position (D); and a coupling mechanism (8) for linking the reclining mechanism and the cushion stow-away mechanism to each other, wherein a high surface (Fa) and a low surface (Fb) that is lower than the high surface are formed on the floor, the seat support platform being mounted on the high surface, and the cushion stow-away mechanism being configured so as to be capable of moving the seat cushion from the in-use position, which is higher than the high surface, to the stow-away position, which is adjacent to the low surface. Provided thereby is an automotive folding seat in which at least a bottom part of the seat cushion is lowered further downward than a surface on the floor to which the seat is mounted when the seat is in a folded state.
