Abstract:
The present invention relates to an automotive safety system using multiple cameras, which is disposed in a vehicle equipped with a plurality of cameras to alert the driver to dangers most effectively through synchronizing images captured by the plurality of cameras, and contributes to correct analysis of the causes of accidents. The automotive safety system using multiple cameras is implemented by comprising: a capturing means including a plurality of cameras and installed on a large size vehicle to capture images by photographing the surroundings of the vehicle and transmit the captured images in a serial format; an image-synchronizing means which synchronizes frames on the basis of frame information of serial images captured by the plurality of cameras in the capturing means and outputs the synchronized frames in the form of a parallel image signal; a first image storage device in which to store the parallel image signal output from the image-synchronizing means; a driver-aiding means which processes the parallel image signal output from the image-synchronizing means so as to separate the signals into front-end collision images, lane departure images, and side collision images, and performs control to store the images processed to be separated and control to output an alerting processing signal; a second image storage device in which to store the images processed to be separated by the driver-aiding means; and an alerting device which displays the images processed to be separated or sounds an alert under control of the driver-aiding means.
