Abstract:
This autonomous vehicle comprises: a vehicle body; a first road surface image acquisition device that is mounted on a lower surface of the vehicle body, and acquires an image of a road surface under the vehicle body; a second road surface image acquisition device that is mounted on the lower surface of the vehicle body, and acquires an image of the road surface under the vehicle body; and a storage unit that stores a map image of the road surface associated with geographical location information. The autonomous vehicle also comprises: a first own-location estimation unit that estimates the own-location of the autonomous vehicle by comparing a feature extracted from the image of the road surface acquired by the first road surface image acquisition device with a feature extracted from the map image; and a second own-location estimation unit that estimates the own-location of the autonomous vehicle by comparing a feature extracted from the image of the road surface acquired by the second road surface image acquisition device with a feature extracted from the map image.
