Abstract:
An AV signal transceiving system (10) capable of appropriately receiving AV signals includes a source device (200) and a sink device (100) connected to the source device (200) via an HDMI® cable (300). The sink device (100) comprises: an AV-signal-receiving unit (110) for receiving AV signals via the HDMI® cable (300); memory (140) for holding EDID; a rewriting unit (130) for rewriting the EDID held in the memory (140); an HPD control unit (150) for controlling HPD signal output; and a determination unit (120) for determining whether a received AV signal is an HDMI® signal or a DVI signal, and, when the AV signal is determined to be a DVI signal, for commanding the rewriting unit (130) to rewrite the EDID maintained in the memory (140) and commanding the HPD control unit (150) to output an HPD signal indicating that it is possible to read out the rewritten EDID.
