Abstract:
An awakening device (1) awakens a driver. The awakening device is provided with: a drowsiness level measuring unit which measures the drowsiness level of the driver; and a light stimulation generating unit which generates light stimulation having a periodically varying brightness. The light stimulation generating unit makes the speed of variation of the brightness greater in a first case in which the drowsiness level measured by the drowsiness level measuring unit is at least equal to a predetermined threshold, than in a second case in which the drowsiness level is less than the threshold.
