Abstract:
The invention relates to an axle assembly (110) for a heavy-goods vehicle, comprising a rotary bearing (112), a steering swivel axis (X), a hub carrier (118) with at least one wheel (120) mounted thereon so as to rotate about a wheel swivel axis (Z), wherein the wheel swivel axis (Z) is arranged during straight driving behind the steering swivel axis (X), in the direction of travel (V), in every spring deflection state of the axle assembly (110), and a unit (124) that can be adjusted about the steering swivel axis (X) when the hub carrier (118) rotates, wherein the adjustable unit (124) is adjustable between two operating states, namely a forward-driving state of operation, in which the adjustable unit dampens the movement of rotation of the hub carrier (118) about the steering swivel axis (X), and a backwards-driving state of operation, in which it transmits to the axle assembly (110) a steering force that steers the axle assembly (110).
