Abstract:
The present invention provides: a completely novel backing material layer which has incombustibility and fire resistance as well as flame resistance and therefore has such a function that a harmful gas is hardly generated therefrom, and also has the most appropriate cushioning property, flexibility and a stretching property; and a carpet hardly generating a harmful gas, which is equipped with the backing material layer.
The carpet hardly generating a harmful gas according to the present invention is characterized by being produced by adhering a backing material layer to a surface material layer with an adhesive material layer interposed therebetween, wherein the backing material layer comprises carbon fibers produced by a heating/carbonizing treatment and/or oxidized acrylic fibers and a non-woven fiber assembly produced by mixing polyester fibers with cotton, the content of the carbon fibers and/or the oxidized acrylic fibers is 30 to 80 wt%, the content of the polyester fibers is 20 to 70 wt%, and all of the fibers are so formed as to have diameters of 2.0 to 16.0 dtex and cut lengths of 20 to 160 mm.
