Abstract:
A backlight device (10) is provided with: a tray-shaped chassis (11); an edge light type light guide plate (13) that is placed over the surface of the chassis; an optical sheet laminated body (15) that is placed over the surface of the light guide plate; and a liquid crystal panel base (12) that is secured to an opening edge part of the chassis, supports a liquid crystal panel (1) by the surface, and holds the optical sheet laminated body by the back surface. The optical sheets (15a, 15b, 15c) that constitute the optical sheet laminated body become smaller closer to the liquid crystal panel, and the edge parts form a stepped shape.
