Abstract:
Provided is a backlight illuminator for a molded body which produces a light atmosphere for a unique molded body, for example, with religious or spiritual themes, such as a statue of the Virgin Mary or Buddha by combining, with the statue, irradiation of indirect light composed of backlight from a rear projection plate behind the statue, and which shows the features of the molded body with the faint backlight and defines the whole contour of the molded body to produce a solemn atmosphere of the molded body with the light, to be able to provide an atmosphere that is more than what the mere formed shape has. This backlight illuminator for a molded body includes: the molded body that faces forward; an illuminating body that is provided toward the rear side of the molded body and illuminates the back of the molded body; a light transmitting hole that is arranged in a rearward irradiation direction of the illuminating body; and the rear projection plate which is disposed further toward the rear side than the illuminating body and projects the irradiation light from the illuminating body and which is larger than the outer form of the molded body. The light irradiated onto the rear projection plate from the illuminating body defines the whole contour of the molded body as backlight reflected from the rear projection plate and the front side of the molded body can be seen in a solemn atmosphere due to the backlight.
