Abstract:
A backlight module and a display apparatus for extending the brightness range of a side-type backlight module, thereby improving the HDR display effect of the display apparatus. The backlight module comprises at least two layers of side-type light guide plates (1) arranged in a stacked manner, and a light bar (2) arranged at a light guide face (4) of each layer of the side-type light guide plates (1), the bottom face of each layer of the side-type light guide plates (1) being provided with optical lattice points (5). The solution extends the brightness range of the backlight module. In addition, the light bar (2) of each layer of the side-type light guide plates (1) can be separately controlled; therefore, the brightness range of the backlight module can be extended. Therefore, the backlight module provided by the solution can effectively improve the HDR display effect of the display apparatus.
