A backlight module and a liquid crystal display device. The backlight module comprises a back plate (51), a light guide plate (53), and an LED lamp set (55). The back plate (51) has an accommodating space, and the light guide plate (53) is located in the accommodating space. The LED lamp set (55) is located between the side wall of the back plate (51) and a light incidence end surface of the light guide plate (53). A side wall of the back plate (51) adjacent to the LED lamp set (55) is provided with space-avoiding projections (511); and the space-avoiding projections (511) are provided with screw holes for a threaded lock with a front frame (58). After the liquid crystal display device comprising the backlight module is lit, due to a great space-avoiding interval between a screw (59) in the screw hole and the LED lamp set (55), heat conduction therebetween can be greatly reduced, thereby reducing the temperature increase of the screw (59), and improving user experience.
