Abstract:
A liquid crystal module, comprising a liquid crystal display panel (2) and a backlight unit (1) which are provided opposite to each other. The backlight unit (1) is an edge-lit backlight unit (1), and a liquid crystal light valve (3) is provided between the backlight unit (1) and the liquid crystal display panel (2). The liquid crystal light valve (3) comprises a plurality of independently controllable liquid crystal sub-light valves (3a), and the liquid crystal sub-light valves (3a) are used for controlling the light quantity of light emitted from the backlight unit (1) to be incident on the liquid crystal display panel (2). A liquid crystal display device comprising said liquid crystal module. Said liquid crystal module can adopt edge-lit backlight to achieve the effect of high-dynamic contrast, and can meet the requirements of an ultra-thin liquid crystal display device.
