Abstract:
A backlight unit is provided with at least two light sources (4A, 4B), a light-guide plate (2) having a light projection surface (SUF4), and a light path adjustment member (1) having a light projection surface (SUF2) for directly receiving light projected from the light projection surface (SUF4), and directly projecting the received light toward a liquid crystal panel (5). Therein, the light path adjustment member (1) projects light having directive luminance characteristics from the light projection surface (SUF2) in at least two directions where the luminance distribution becomes larger and that differ from the normal direction of the display screen in the display panel (5).
