Abstract:
In order to cause the disclosed backlight unit (2) to be thinner and more lightweight than conventional units and to be able to emit a surface light that has a low brightness unevenness, in the backlight unit (2), a light guide plate (5) is configured from a transparent thin sheet, and is caused to be a corrugated sheet wherein concave troughs (51) and convex ridges (52) are alternately disposed in the direction of approach to/separation from a light source (6).
