Abstract:
A backup power supply system (1) comprises a first terminal (T1), a second terminal (T2), an interrupting unit (10), a current detection unit (20), a charge/discharge unit (30), an auxiliary power supply (40), and a control unit (50). The interrupting unit (10) is connected between the first terminal (T1) to which a main power supply (2) is connected and the second terminal (T2) to which a load (3) is connected. The charge/discharge unit (30) is connected between the auxiliary power supply (40) and a node (P1) between the interrupting unit (10) and the second terminal (T2). The charge/discharge unit (30) receives power from the main power supply (2) and supplies a charging current to the auxiliary power supply (40) when in a non-failure state where the main power supply (2) has not failed, and receives power from the auxiliary power supply (40) and supplies the charging current to the load (3) when in a failure state. The control unit (50) controls the interrupting unit (10) to be in a conducting state when the current detection unit (20) does not detect a discharge current, and controls the interrupting unit (10) to be in an interrupting state when the current detection unit (20) detects the discharge current.
