Abstract:

A bactericide for aseptic filling system consisting of an aqueous solution of peracetic acid bactericide comprising peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and water as main components, wherein the aqueous solution has a pH value of 2 to 4, and wherein the ratio of hydrogen peroxide concentration/peracetic acid concentration is 0.7 or below, the peracetic acid concentration ranging from 500 to 3000 ppm; and a method of sterilization for aseptic filling system in which use is made of the bactericide. This peracetic acid bactericide is one that even when the concentration of peracetic acid is extremely low, exhibits excellent sterilizing effect, so that not only is it economically advantageous but also in the post-sterilization washing with aseptic water, short-time spraying of aseptic water can attain asepticizing to such a level that food filling is admissible. Thus, the bactericide excels in not only economy but also operational efficiency. In the sterilization method, enhanced sterilization effects can be attained by carrying out the method while heating at 60°C or higher the peracetic acid bactericide and/or food container on the internal surface thereof. Further, circulatory system recycling can be performed as long as the ratio of hydrogen peroxide concentration/peracetic acid concentration is maintained.
