Description:
Baffle-type silencer of the ventilation system

The object of the invention is a baffle-type silence of the ventilation system used in buildings, in particular in premises which should meet the specific acoustic requirements, ensuring low level of noise, such as cinema halls, theatre halls, hospitals or bedrooms in residential buildings.

Polish patent publication PAT.174581 discloses an absorption-type silencer used in order to improve flow and acoustic parameters of absorption-type, multi-compartment lamellar silencers. An absorption-type silencer is characterised in that sound-absorbing cartridges are installed inside its housing, with flexible external shields around its outlines made of a textile material or of a mesh, inside which acoustic compartments containing sound-absorbing material are located, providing both tensioning elements and guides for the cartridges, as well as determining their relative location using guides. The guides may be parallel or non-parallel, straight or curved, single- or multi- segmented and shifted. The guides and the acoustic separating elements also provide strffeners for the housing walls, acting as ribs. Arc-shaped, wave-shaped or zig-zag shaped flow ducts with variable shape may be formed as required.

The Polish patent application P.404303 discloses a silencer made of mineral wool intended for air conditioning installations, which Includes a mineral wool structure forming a duct passing through a depression open at both ends, in which the mineral wool structure may be placed between a ventilation unit and a system of ventilation lines, or at a specific location along a duct or ducts of ventilation lines, such that the depression forming a duct made of mineral wool becomes a part of the air duct or ducts of the ventilation line system. The surface of the depression forming the duct of the mineral wool structure is lined with a material which prevents the release of mineral wool particles into the ventilation system. The silencer is provided with the external surface of the mineral wool structure coated with laminate made of aluminium/glass fibre textile. The invention also includes a method of production of such silencers.

Duct-mounted silencers used In a mechanical ventilation installation are also known in the field, with a rectangular cross-section, constructed using an array of silencing baffles filled with mineral wool. The baffle-type silencer of the ventilation system containing a through-type housing with rectangular cross-section provided on the inside with silencing baffles filled with an absorbing material, with air flow ducts formed between the baffles according to the invention is characterised in that the internal housing surfaces, perpendicular to the silencing baffles, located between the side walls and the silencing baffles, and between individual silencing baffles, are provided with silencing linings, preferably made of coated mineral wool.

The thickness of the silencing baffled is preferably 100 mm.

Side wails are preferably provided with pulling clamps.

The known baffle-type silencers have standard length of lm. The solution according to the invention, whilst retaining better silencing parameters, allows the length to be shortened by approximately 1/3, and by about 2/3 if comparable parameters are retained. Silencing ducts are formed thanks to the use of the additional silencing linings, allowing smaller thickness of the silencing baffles to be used. The silencers according to the invention have modular structure, which allows them to be constructed using repeatable elements of various silencers with variable lengths, allowing the desired noise silencing parameters to be achieved more precisely in Individual sections of the ventilation installation and optimisation of the installation as a whole to be possible. Thus, the use of silencers according to the invention results in material consumption savings, translating into economic benefits.

The object of the invention is explained in more detail using an embodiment of the invention presented in the drawing, in which Fig. 1 presents an axonometrfc view of a silencer model, and Fig. 2 presents a silencer model along a vertical section.

The duct housing 1 with rectangular cross-section and dimensions of 1000 mm x 600 mm x 1600 mm (L x H x W) made of zinc-plated steel was provided in nine baffles 2 made as connected, rectangular steel frames filled with inflammable mineral wool protected against brtttleness, each. Baffles 2 were installed in parallel, every 35 mm. Internal surfaces of housing 1, perpendicular to the baffles 2 in spaces between the baffles 2 and the side walls 3 and between individual baffles 2 were lined with a silencing lining 5, made of inflammable mineral wool protected against brittleness. Pulling clamps 4 were installed on external surfaces of side walls 3. The base of housing 1 was provided with a steel assembly frame 6. A comparison of sound absorption characteristics of a silencer without silencing linings („current") and of a silencer with linings („new 3 model") is presented in the following graph.
