Description:
BAG

DESCRIPTION

The present invention refers to a bag comprising a storage body, where personal items and goods are stored, and at least one handle connected through at least one hinge to the storage body.

The known bags on the market can have various types of hinges of the handles to the storage body.

Often the provision of a hinge between the handle and the storage body can cause the weakening of the storage body in the hinge attachment area.

Another criticality encountered when a hinge is to be provided consists of the fact that it is often at least partially if not fully on view and clearly alters the aesthetic appearance of the bag. This sometimes implies the need, so that the aesthetic appearance of the bag is not penalised, to use valuable materials and/or to use finishing processes on the hinge that may also be expensive.

Another problem encountered in some hinges results in an oscillation of the handle along an angular stroke, which is not precisely controllable and can cause difficulties in handling the bag.

The task set by the present invention is, therefore, to eliminate the disadvantages complained of in the known art, by creating a bag that allows the disadvantages complained of in the known art to be eliminated.

Within the scope of this task, an object of the invention is to create a bag in which the provision of a hinge between a handle and the storage body does not weaken or compromise the structural solidity of the storage body in the hinge attachment area.

Another object of the invention is to create a bag wherein this hinge is as hidden from view as possible.

Yet another object of the invention is to create a bag wherein the hinge has a simple structure, and a precise, safe and reliable operation. The task as well as these and other objects, according to the present invention, are reached by creating a bag comprising a storage body and at least one handle connected through at least one hinge to the storage body, characterised in that said hinge comprises within the storage body a first fixed wing having its first main face applied against the inside wall of the storage body, and outside the storage body a second oscillatable wing applied to the handle, said second wing being oscillatable between a raising position of the handle, in which its first main face is turned towards said main face of the first wing, and a lowering position of the handle, in which its second main face is turned towards said main face of the first wing.

Further characteristics of the present invention are also defined in the following claims.

Further characteristics and advantages will become more apparent from the following detailed description of the bag according to the invention, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying figures, wherein:

Figure 1 shows a front view of the bag;

Figure 2 shows a prospect view of a hinge applicable to the bag;

Figure 3 shows another prospect view of the hinge applied to the bag; and

Figure 4 shows a raised side view of the hinge applied to the storage body and to the handle illustrated in a cross-sectional view.

With reference to the figures mentioned, a bag is shown indicated overall with the reference number 1.

Bag 1 comprising a storage body 2 and at least one handle 3 connected through at least one hinge 4 to the storage body 2.

In particular, the bag 1 has two handles 3 each connected to the storage body 2 through two hinges 4 provided in correspondence with its two opposite ends. Advantageously the hinge 4 comprises inside the storage body 2 a first fixed wing 5 having a main face 12 applied against the inside wall of the storage body 2, and outside the storage body 2 a second oscillatable wing 6 associated with the handle 3.

The second wing 6 is oscillatable between a raising position of the handle 3, in which its first main face 7 is turned towards the main face 12 of the first wing 5, and a lowering position of the handle 3, in which its second main face 8 is turned towards the main face 12 of the first wing 5.

The hinge 4 has an oscillating pin 9 engaged with a first longitudinal connecting element 10 of the oscillating pin 9 to the first wing 5 and with a second longitudinal connecting element 11 of the oscillating pin 9 to the second wing 6. The first connecting element 10 is provided in an intermediate position in the main face 12 of the first wing 5, whereas the second connecting element 11 is provided along one side of the perimeter of the second wing 6.

The first wing 5 and the second wing 6 are configured like flat plates preferably square shaped, mutually constrained and dimensioned so that in any angular position the second wing 6 is projected inside at least three of the four sides of the perimeter of the main face 12 of the first wing 5.

The oscillating pin 9 is positioned outside the storage body 2 parallel to the main face 12 of the first wing 15.

The distance of the oscillating pin 9 of the main face 12 of the first wing 5 is substantially equal to the thickness of the wall of the storage body 2.

The first connecting element 10 is positioned through an opening 13 through the thickness of the storage body 2.

The handle 3 interferes with the outside wall of the storage body 2 both in correspondence with its raising position in which the second wing 6 has its first main face 7 substantially parallel to the main face 12 of the first wing 5, and in correspondence with its lowering position, in which the second wing 6 has its second main face 8 substantially parallel to the main face 12 of the first wing 5. The angular excursion of the handle 3 is therefore defined and equal to approximately 180°.

The first wing 5 has a plurality of holes, 14a, 14b through its thickness for the seam 20 to the storage body 2.

In particular, the plurality of holes 14a, 14b is arranged in a first line of holes 14a and at least one second line of holes 14b provided on the opposite sides of the first connecting element 10.

The lines of holes 14a and 14b extend longitudinally parallel to the longitudinal connecting element 10.

The distance between the lines of holes 14a and 14b where the seam 20 is created between the first wing 5 of the storage body 2 is large enough to prevent any structural weakening of the storage body 2.

Advantageously the arm of the force acting on the first wing 5 of the hinge 4 when the handle 3 is grasped is greatly reduced, since it is in particular substantially equal to the value of the wall thickness of the storage body 2, and the force transmitted is unloaded through the first wing 5 onto a large portion of the storage body 2 whose integrity is therefore not jeopardized.

The main face 18 of the first wing 5 opposite to the one 12 turning against the wall of the storage body 2 is made available, particularly in the area comprised between the lines of holes 14a and 14b, for the application of a decorative motif and/or an inscription.

The second wing 6 has a plurality of holes 15 through its wall thickness for the seam 21 to the handle 3.

The holes 15 are arranged in a line that extends longitudinally parallel to the longitudinal connecting element 11.

The second wing 6 is included in the handle 3 to which it is sewn.

Advantageously, therefore, the hinge 4 is almost completely invisible, since the first wing 5 is within the storage body 2 whereas the second wing 6 as mentioned is part of the handle 3. The first connecting element 10 and the second connecting element 11 comprise housing sleeves 16 and 17 respectively for the oscillating pin 9.

The sleeves 17 are axially aligned and intercalated between the sleeves 16 and overall with the sleeves 16 they define a housing of approximately the same length as that of the oscillating pin 9.

The hinge 4 according to the invention gives the handle 3 two well-defined stable positions.

When the user grasps the handle 3, the latter turns raising itself up to the position in which its basal part interferes against the outside wall of the storage body 2 whereas its apical part where the hand grip takes place protrudes above the storage body 2.

When, however, the user releases the handle 3 to put down the bag 1 , the handle 3 is overturned positioning itself fully against the outside part of the storage body 2.

The materials used, as well as the dimensions, may in practice be of any type according to requirements and the state of the art.
