The purpose is to provide a ball joint dust cover that solves the problem of weakening sealing function that occurs in the seal lip section of a dust cover. To address the problem, this ball joint dust cover is structured so that: a ball head section formed on one end of a ball stud is held inside a socket; a shaft section on the other end of the ball stud is fastened and secured onto a knuckle; a large-diameter opening section on one end is held securely on the outer surface of the socket; a small-diameter opening section on the other end is held by a retainer outer circumference surface having an L-shaped cross section which is fitted and held on the shaft section; a film section, projecting outward on the outer side, and having an essentially hourglass shape, connects the large-diameter opening and the small-diameter opening; a seal lip section is formed on a surface contacting the retainer outer circumference surface of the small-diameter opening section; a cut extending from the lower surface of the small-diameter opening to the knuckle is provided; and inside the cut, a cylindrical holding section that extends from the outer-diameter-side of the retainer toward the knuckle-side and covers the outer circumference of the seal lip section is provided.
