Abstract:
A ball joint, wherein a ball seat (200) has a heat staking portion (221) for affixing the ball seat (200) to a housing (300), a recess (212) has overhang sections (212b) for resisting a pulling load to prevent a ball section from coming out of the recess (212), the recess (212) of the ball seat (200) consists of polyacetal, and the overhang sections (212b) and the heat staking portion (221) are reinforced by a resin formed by adding glass fibers to polyacetal and having higher strength than the polyacetal. The construction allows the ball joint to be configured without an increase in the weight thereof, to be produced with production cost suppressed, and to have increased resistance to a pulling load.
