Abstract:
The disclosed ball joint is equipped with: a housing (11) that has an aperture (20); a ball stud (12) that has a shaft (30) and a ball (31); a ball seat (13) that is housed in the housing (11) and that has a concave spherical surface (50) into which the ball (31) is inserted, an overhang (51) that has a smaller inner diameter than the outer diameter of the ball (31) in order to prevent the ball (31) from coming out of the concave spherical surface (50), and a sloped surface (52) that is formed at the hole section (21) into which the shaft (30) is inserted and that is shaped with the inner diameter expanding from the overhang (51) to the aperture (20); and a crimped section (80), wherein a projecting edge (25) formed at the end wall of the aperture (20) of the housing (11) is folded towards the end surface of the ball seat (13) and is disposed overlapping the end surface of the ball seat (13), extends towards the overhang (51) and faces the sloped surface (52). In order to securely prevent dislodging of the ball seat (13) from the housing (11), positioning in the vertical and radial directions is performed without fail.
