Abstract:
The invention relates to a ball joint (10) comprising a housing (12), a ball (16) that is displacably mounted in a recess (14) formed in the housing (12) and a ball pivot (18) that is joined to the ball (16), and to a method for the production thereof. The joint (10) is characterised by a multi-part ball socket (20) arranged in the recess (14), said ball socket comprising at least one plastic first part (22) and at least one other second part (24) which is arranged in a highly stressed area of the ball joint (10) and which is made of a material that is more resistant to wear compared to the plastic of the first part or each first part (22). In order to produce the joint (10), the ball socket (20) accommodating the ball (16) and to be arranged in the recess is obtained by combining the or each first part (22) with at least one second part (24) and the second part (24) is arranged in a highly stressed area of the ball joint (10)
